Wow, has it really been a month since I blogged? It really doesn’t seem that long. I’ve kind of been flat out with work and stuff, not to mention I’ve been sick too.
Okay, so let’s go back to the beginning. The last time I blogged was the 18th November, and nothing happened that week, so I’ll jump forward a little to the 29th November, when I saw my dad. He had some interest in a new car in Newcastle - it was a flat-tray ute, which he wanted to replace his 4WD and trailer. So he came up on the 29th and spent the night with us; we went out for dinner to a little Irish Pub here in Melbourne, which was really nice. The boys (Dad and Michael) bought a pint of Guinness each, and there were these two women going around doing quizzes for people who bought Guinness, so we thought we’d have a shot. It was basically trivia -Michael ended up winning with 5 points, my Dad with 3 and me with a measly point. However, Michael’s prize was a t-shirt that didn’t fit him, and Dad’s was a keyring he didn’t want, so I ended up with both prizes! Anyway, dinner was really good and we headed back home (picking up some beer on the way) and sat at home, had a few, then went to bed because Dad had to get up at around 5am to get his flight to Newcastle, plus we both had to get up for work.
On the 30th, I woke up at 6am not feeling very well, so I stayed home and also cleaned the house, and headed down to the bus depot to meet Mum at around 7:30pm. We headed back and ordered Indian food for dinner, which was fantastic (as always). Had a reasonably early night - I think we went to bed around 11pm.
The next day we headed to a late breakfast with Michael’s family, then Mum and I hit the shops for a while. She bought some wall-hangings for their new place for $20 (the same prints she had seen slightly bigger at a boutiquey shop for over $150 each!), so with them we headed back to our apartment so we could drop them off, then we headed back downtown to the Regent Theatre, met up with Alisha (my sister) and went to see ‘Priscilla: Queen of the Desert - The Musical’ which, in one word, was AMAZING. I have never seen such extravagant costumes, heard such fantastic singing and seen such brilliant acting. There aren’t enough words to express how awesome it was, just brilliant. I want to go again and just party with them!
After the show the three of us headed back to our place to have a few drinks and see Dad (he’d come back from Newcastle with the car) before he left to head home. We went to Nando’s for dinner, since it was close and reasonably quick and Dad had to leave at around 6:30pm. Alisha left shortly after, so Mum and I finished off a couple of bottles of white wine and some Cowboy Smoothie (which is YUMMMY!), and headed to bed around 11:30ish.
Next day, mum and I got up reasonably early, had some breakfast then hit the shops again for some retail therapy. Mum bought a nice skirt for herself, a couple of t-shirts for my brother for Christmas, and bought me a couple of tops for work. We headed home, had a bit of a break and then I walked with Mum back down to the bus depot to see her off at around 3pm. I fucking hate saying goodbye, but it was less than a month till I see her again so I had to keep reminding myself of that.
I think I might leave that here and blog more about what’s been going on in the next couple of days - I don’t want to put everything in one entry and then have nothing to talk about for another month! In other news, I’ve updated Inspirata Listings, deleting heaps of links that were either dead or not complying with requirements. Additionally, I’ve moved all my joined fanlistings and cliques to love.inspirata.org, so the fanlistings I own and ones I’ve joined are all in one convenient spot!
So, until next time!
